Africa School Link!
Saint Osburg's Primary School has been chosen to develop international links with South Africa as part of a major new school twinning project to boost global education.
Connecting classrooms is a UK government and british council education initiative. Saint Osburg's has been selected in recognition of its commitment to teaching students about global issues. Teachers and students are working with Saint Mary's Primary School in South Africa to learn how to become responsible global citizens and to develop skills to work in a global economy.
In a letter recently received by the school the secretary of state for international development, Justine Greening said:
“I am very pleased that Saint Osburg's in Coventry is taking in this excellent opportunity to link with schools in other parts of our world. Young people and teachers can make a fantastic contribution by sharing the best of britain with their peers around the world and at the same time, the great thing is that they can get invaluable knowledge of what life is like in other countries."
This programme will enable Mr McHugh to take part in an exchange visit with Saint Mary's Primary School in Cape Town, South Africa. They will work on classroom based projects together, with the aim of giving young people a unique and hands-on international learning experience.

Unfortunately the school football team tasted defeat in their league match against All Souls. The 1-0 loss means All Souls have replaced Saint Osburgs at the top of the league but we will fight to get back to the top. Man of the match goes to Jeremy who had a brilliant game in goal despite the waterlogged pitch. Well done!
The 4 a-side football team battled against the best teams in Coventry last night (6th February) as they looked to progress past the group stage in the competition. After finishing top of their group, and winning all three games, the team made it to the final four. However, they were beaten 4-2 in the semi final by Aldermans Green but a tremendous effort was made by every player! They did very well to reach the final four as there were 32 teams in the competition at the beginning.
